Exchanges with students are always privileged moments.
As part of the Moonshot conferences, organised from September 6 to 17, 2021 by EPITECH - European institute of Technology, a round table was organised on the Paris campus.
Our Chief Architect Wilfried de Kerchove de Denterghem, alumni of EPITA: Ecole d'Ingénieurs en Informatique, took part in it.
The topic of these Moonshot conferences "ideas in our mind, but feet firmly on the ground" was: "How to build a better future?
Thanks to the students for their active listening and their questions after a whole day of conferences!
For a project to emerge, an idea must precede it. Each year, the start of the 3rd year of Epitech Technology is inaugurated by an internal ideation pool for innovative and concrete projects: the Moonshot.
Two intense weeks of ideation
The Moonshot is the first act of a 3-part innovation cycle (with the "Forward", project prototyping, and the Epitech Experience, project presentation in the 5th and final year). The aim of the Moonshot is to infuse and then give birth to the ideas that will lead to the creation of the students' Epitech Innovative Projects (EIP). During these two intense weeks of ideation, the students are led, through conferences led by the teaching teams alongside experts from different sectors, to think about their project in response to the challenges of today, but also of tomorrow, in order to "build a better future".
As Emmanuel Carli introduced the students, "the Moonshot aims to make you think about society's problems and put your technical skills at the service of strong issues to help improve it". While emphasising the ability to work together, Epitech's General Manager specified that the objective was not to "make entrepreneurs out of you, but to take you to where your potential allows".
